Display device

A tablet at the counter on which customers sign and take photos, controlled from a repair.

The Display device is a tablet at the counter, usually an iPad, that faces your customer. From a repair you send a signature request or a photo request to it. The tablet then opens the right screen by itself and afterwards returns to the waiting screen. Nobody needs to sign in on the tablet.

Where to find it

At the bottom left of the sidebar, click the row with your shop name and choose Shop settings. The Display Device tab is in the Repairs group.

That tab shows three details under Connection Details, each with a button to copy it: Display URL (the address you open on the tablet), Company ID and Display Token. Below them is a QR code with the same details.

Connecting a tablet

With the QR code

  1. Open the camera on the tablet and scan the QR code on the Display Device tab.
  2. Open the link. The tablet saves the details and connects straight away.

By hand

  1. On the tablet, open the address from the tab in the browser, on app.repairflow.eu.
  2. On the Connect this display screen, enter the Display Token and the Company ID.
  3. Tap Save & Connect.

If the details are wrong, a red message appears and you can correct them.

The waiting screen

When the tablet is connected, it shows the waiting screen Ready for Signature with a green dot and Connected. While connecting you see Connecting…. At the bottom there is the Reset Setup link to clear the connection and start again.

The tablet uses the language you chose under Email Language in Profile & opening hours.

Requesting a signature on the tablet

  1. Open the repair and go to the Signature tab.
  2. Optionally fill in under Purpose (optional) what the customer is signing for, for example intake or extra work.
  3. Choose iPad at the counter.
  4. Optionally tick Include repair costs in signature request. The costs are then recorded at that moment.
  5. Click Send to iPad →.

On the tablet the customer sees a summary of the repair. They open your terms of service, sign, tick that they have read and accepted the terms, and confirm. After four seconds the tablet returns to the waiting screen.

The signature appears in the repair straight away, with the date and the way it was signed. Your team receives a notification. With every signature, the text of your terms of service as it was at that moment is recorded.

If no tablet is connected, you receive a message about it and nothing is sent.

Having photos taken on the tablet

  1. Open the repair and go to the Photos tab.
  2. Click Send to iPad.

The tablet opens the Photo Proof screen. The customer chooses Before, During or After under Image type, taps Take Photo and then Submit Photo. The photo ends up with the repair in the chosen block, and you receive a notification. After three seconds the tablet returns to the waiting screen. Here too: without a connected tablet you receive a message.

Renewing the token

If you think the token has ended up with someone else, or you want to disconnect an old tablet, renew the token.

  1. On the Display Device tab, click Regenerate token.
  2. Confirm in the window that appears.

Every connected tablet is disconnected immediately and shows the connection screen again. Then connect every tablet you want to keep using again, with the new QR code or the new token.

Who can do what

  • Owner and manager: open the Display Device tab and renew the token.
  • Everyone in the team: send a signature or photo request to the tablet from a repair.

Tips

  • Fix the tablet in a stand and leave the browser open on the waiting screen.
  • Write your terms of service in Settings under Legal before you use the tablet: that is the text the customer reads when signing.
  • Anyone at the tablet can clear the connection, so place the tablet where you can see it.
  • Renew the token if a tablet is lost or when an old device leaves the shop.
